    Koolwell in a Bullet?

Hey guys... Anyone put a Koolwell in a Bullet yet? I have installed one in my Stratos and a buddy wants me to install one in his Bullet 21XD.

I'm a little concerned on getting to the cooler and was wondering if anyone has done this. We may have to relocate the cooler to a rear storage compartment but don't want to if we can get the cooling coil and plumbing to the existing cooler. He is tired of just using frozen bottles and ice and has decided to go with a Koolwell. Thanks in advance for any insightful replies.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a koolwell? is it like a 12 volt refrigerator? Please explaint what is involved in rigging it up in a boat.

Just thinking out loud here. The Bullets cooler is not exactly the best insulated or the largest. Once drinks are added is there going to be enough room for ice to make a difference or supply the cooling system?

Kind of what I had thought about the cooler and also a pain in the a$$ to get to ... I thought it would be better to insulate of the rear storage compartments and turn it in to a cooler, but hey not my boat.

my cooler worked much better when my boat had a center seat , after mine was worn out I put one of Paul,s box / steps in place of the seat. I noticed after the padded foam of the seat. Im going to put some foam In the cooler lid or inside the box I usually dont put much other than the sonar cover, and lake maps in there any way .

I put carpet on my cooler lid and then cut a piece of the insulated foam from the center of my dry storage boxes (behinde the passenger) and glued it inside and now it takes a day and a half to melt

I bought some 3/8" thick foam with adhesive on one side and put under my lid. I also added trimlock with small rubber gasket around opening to try to seal it better. Neither has helped much. Still melts a lot by noon in the hot summer.

My 200 Champion has a small center under step seat cooler...I just changed it to one of the rear storage boxes and now I have the koolwell system and a bigger cooler for drinks, lunch, etc.

But it is basically a thermostat controlled water cooler. It also has the option now, with the appropriate temperature sensor/probe, to have the livewell temp visually displayed on the newer Lowrances and Humminbird units. Also, in the event of a primary recirc failure it can double as a recirc.

What are you talking about Rich mine is perfect! Holds a 30 pack and a bag of ice, and if you drink like I do the ice don't have time to melt!!!
