Well i have now removed the oil injection from a Merc

Wasnt nothin to it!!!!!!!!!!! took me about an hour to remove the hole system and ran like a top. Thanks Roger for the post with the pics i did go back and look a couple times just to be sure

What's the advantage or disadvantage of removing the oil injection?

His was gone out . to change the plastic gear inside requires a powerhead removal and disassemble.. We removed it and he can mix his own and only cost him 20.00. The motor is 19 years old. Alot of the guys with 2.5's turning higher rpms remove it as it only good too about 6500rpms is what i hear. I have always had it taken off any carberd or efi motors i had no matter which brand after they are 10 years old. The advantage there is dont have to wrry about blowing it up due to the oil injection failure

Let him know it will smoke more at low speeds because the injection was 100 to 1 and ramped up from there with speed increase. Did you get the temp alarm hooked up?
