    Checking PTT level

Writing for my buddy. He has an 08 Vmax HPDI 175 that came with his boat he purchased used. He needs to know the exact way to check the fluid level on his tilt and trim. Extend the engine all the way up etc. Should fluid come out when tilted all the was up. Thanks for the help.

    Re: Checking PTT level (bassnman81)

This based on my 99 VMax175.
With the engine raised up and resting on the tilt stop lever. Make sure it just resting on the stop and not powered down to where it starts pulling the trim pistons in. Open the reservoir cap and the fluid level should be directly below the check hole.

ask him why is he checking it..if its not leaking dont touch it.. If there is a problem if its not leaking its not a fluid problem....

He wants to chek it becaue he just got the boat (used) and wants to make sure it's okay. I'm pretty sure that it works just fione. I'll let him know to leave it alone.

I'd leave it alone unless it's leaking or sounds bad. Gets messy just checking it.
