I got this email about using Ring Free Plus.
"If your state uses ethanol fuel, you should use ring free plus. Using stabilizer is also recommended with ethanol fuel in every tank."

I wonder the distinction of RingFree Plus. Is this sales speak? They said it was made specifically for ethanol based gas. I bit and ordered to 32 oz bottles today.

Well, it's a dark carmel color instead of the clear color of the original Ring Free.....so they've added something. I think you still need marine Sta-bil though.

The plus has lube and metal protectants for the fuel system. It helps prevent corrosion caused by the corn juice in fuel!
So is it okay to use Stabil Blue with Ring Free "PLUS"?

Yep, you still need the Marine Stabil to keep the ethanol fuel from separating.![]()

I'm just curious, isn't using Ring Free Plus and Sta Bil very similar to just using Sta Bil Marine Formula alone for a lot less money? I was going to run all Yamaha products but now I'm rethinking that decision.

It looks as though Yamaha has come up with a new products that covers all the bases, Fuel Stabilizer & Conditioner PLUS, Seems like their version of Sta Bil Marine Formula. I'm willing to be the guinea pig, but my boat is winterized so I won't be out until next spring so don't hold your breath for my results.
Now that is news to me. I was under the impression that you did use Stabil Blue. Now if I don't have to that's even better. How do we get confirmation?
I have been running Sta Bil Marine Formual (blue) since my SHO was new. It appears as though Yamaha's newest product covers the same issues per the data posted on Yamaha's web site under thier Parts/Additives section. It is flagged as a "NEW" product. To tell the truth I believe it's either a Sta Bil knock off or Sta Bil is making it for them but at least if I use Yamaha's product I'll never have a warranty issue with that item anyway.
