What paperwork is required to keep in boat?

I think I only have the registration card in there. I am also going get an inspection sticker. Do I need anything else?

If you fish any tournaments, you will need proof of insurance....... Ricky196

I believe that's it. I don't keep my trailer inspection sticker in the boat but i believe that i will. You never know if someone is going to pull your trailer. That is a good idea. I just thought of getting a pvc tub and put caps (not glued ) and stick paper work in there. Right now, i have them in a ziplock bag.

Why, cause the law said. I never got stopped and asked but yes you to have one, just like your vehicle inspeciton. I read last year that up in shreveport area they were stopping people with boats and checking for inspeciton stickers. I do mine the same time i do the truck.

Heck, Im only getting one cause going up to toledo bend, otherwise I wouldn't even bother.

I keep my paperwork in a small plastic peanutbutter jar. It's a little sticky when i take it out but it works.

You have to keep a copy of your boat registration card in the boat. They trailer registration and the inspection sticker can be kept in the truck. You also are required to have your ID/Drivers License in the boat, or on your person.

I have never in my life know of anyone getting a trailer inspection, nor have I ever heard of anyone being asked to show thier trailer inspection to any officer. Hell, this is the first I've heard of it myself.

There are alot of people that don't know this. I found out one day when i got the truck inspected and pulled the trailer registration instead of the truck. That's when he told me i need one for it to.
