    Power trim question

I've got a buddy who has a 2000 225hp 0X66 on his center console boat. We were out in the Gulf yesterday, when we got back to the ramp, the power trim wouldn't raise the engine at all so we could trailer it home. It sounds like the pump is working but the engine wouldn't come up. I was able to lift up on the skek while he hit the up button and got the engine to come up. When you lower it, it almost falls down. Is this due to low fluid in the hydraulics? If so...where do you add the fluid? We looked all over that thing and couldn't find the fill for the trim fluid.

    Re: Power trim question (billius)

It's a real PITA. I use one of the bottle pumps for gear oil, pull the plastic fitting out of the end and push the clear tubing over the fitting under the cap in the picture. Cycle several times to push the air out. If you over fill, there is a screw for bleeding on the other side of the motor bracket. I was told tranny fluid would work just fine, that's what I used.
