This motor is use on a weekly basis and as of last week it ran great. However this week the motor does not want to turn up enough rpm's. It starts and idles fine but when the boat is put in gear it acts like it is bogging down and it will only turn 3200rpm's at wide open throttle. Any suggestions would help. Thanks. JOEY P.
Sounds like a fould plug. Or fuel restriction.

Hey Mike when i put the motor on the ears and hook it the hose it turns the rpm's great it only seems to want to bog when the whole boat is in the water. I did the dumy test to make sure it's gettin spark, it definatly is!!
You cant tell it's hitting on all cyl when on the hose. Needs a load on it.

ok then i will load it up tommorrow and do the dummy test again. hopfully that will tell me something. If not, here goes another freaking $200 repair bill on a freakin boat that is not even mine..........................screw using a friends boat ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plugs are cheap and probably needed replacing anyway.Thats the least you could do for barrowing his boat.

Check your fuel filters and line. could have a clog or a leak.

dont forget to check your primer bulb, make sure its staying pumped up, first time you prime it , it should stay hard if not that could be problem also, you gonna have to elimate one thing @ a time
After i pump the bulb and start the motor the bulb does not stay fully pumped. I have a new bulb i will try that today. Thanks skeeterbug1, all tips help.
