yam 50 2-stroke probs

have a 3 yo Yamaha 50 2-stroke

Has not been run since June ( 5 MONTHS)

filled it with gas and started reasonably easy.
Putt-puted around a while, ran fine

when opening it up it could not get any speed...could not get over 3800 RPM.

towed to shop.
shop called and talked to GF, said repairs would be $1300.00

told her the problems were from not being run. everything that pertained to fuel was messed up from not being ran.

does it sound like a good diagnois and a fair price?

I'd call the shop and get them to explain it all to you. With better knowledge, we could make a better judgement call. Are they going to rebuild the carb, remove the old fuel, clean out the cylinders, etc?

In other words, find out exactly what needs fixed.
