    Big Hill

Anyone been on Big Hill lately? I may run down there this weekend. My last couple trips up here in NE KS have resulted in Algae Blooms and then a really tough day at Banner on Saturday. Only caught 8 fish all day, but most were 2-3lbs and my buddy lost one around 5. But we fished all day for those 8 fish so it was slow to say the least.

I was a little more concerned with the turnover down there at Big Hill. With the water temps falling quick I assume that should be happening there sooner than later down there now that I have seen it up here lately. I hate to make a 2 hr trip for brown water

Thanks Stud. I used to fish this lake all the time when I lived in Coffeyville, but just do not make it down but a couple times a year now. Hopefully it will turn out to be another good trip.

Chad, Wish I could help, I can tell you where they are not!! There are no fish within casting distance of my boat. So, if you see it don't go there.

I usually have pretty good luck way up north in the creek around this time of year. Use caution if you go up there, it seems those stumps like to move around.
I have been going in the evenings, after 5:00pm so the bite my be better in the morning hours.

    Good Luck.

    Re: Big Hill (BuzzChamp)

Thanks BuzzChamp. We tend to rarely fish before the Timber Hill Ramp and spend 80% of our time at the Bridge area and up towards the creek. Last year about this time we found a lot of schooling bass busting shad in the deep timber around the bridge and just hammered em all day in that one area....I doubt we get that lucky again :)

It looks like from the tourney last weekend we may need to look more at main lake areas. We really have not fished that part of the lake much, but now may be a good time to do that.
