Fuel delivery problem

I have a 2005 250 hpdi and about 4 months ago my motor started acting up when I tried to get up on plan. It would start stalling out @ 3000- 3500 rpm. After 3 visits to the dealer, replacement of fuel pump and all filters, continued to do the same thing. I called Yamaha and they had a visiting mech. from Minn stop by to look at motor. The hose going from syphin ball to motor had been totally dissolved by the elthnol gas we have here in Ca. Replaced hose with a alcohal resisitant hose, along with all the filters, again, and this seems to have corrected problems. Yamaha paid for parts and repairs to get me going, even thought I am about 8 months out of warranty. Yamaha really stepped up on this one!!!

P.S. The hose that was bad was a silver mercury hose installed by the dealer I originally bought the boat from.

I think the ethanol is having an effect on a lot of things...I think that is why there is such a rash of fuel pump diaphrams that have been leaking...Rubber does not like ethanol at all...
