This summer my dad gave me his old boat, a 15' Invader runabout. I ran into a deal I couldn't refuse on a Motorguide W55 at Cabela's two weekends ago, so I spent Saturday working on a little deck and mounting the motor. All I need to do now is decide how to finish the deck (carpet or non-slip) and get a battery and charger and decide where to put them. Any ideas? Let me know what you guys think.

mount the charger and battery under the rear seats (don't know if you have the room or not.)

I don't think the seats are tall enough for the battery. I was thinking about a custom box that would sit under the casting deck, and would come out when the deck is not in. Wouldn't have to make a long cable run, but would be more of a pain. I'd rather have a permanent spot. There might be room back next to the cranking battery, but things would definately have to be rearranged. Any ideas on a covering. I'm intrigued by the idea of a non-slip pad of some sort, but wonder about it getting hot in the sun.
cover it with the bedliner for truck beds. You can buy from http://www.rattleguard.com/. I have used this on two of my trucks and it came out looking just as good as what speedliner or line x did. They have marine applications too.
I like that idea. If I do that in black, will it get hot in the sun. If it's warm, I sometimes fish barefoot, and would hate to add to the heat of a mid-july outing. Is it fairly straight forward to apply?
I don't recall it getting very hot but I never stepped on it barefooted either. you can contact rattleguard. they are great to deal with. the stuff applies very easy, just make sure you apply it in garage or closed off area.
