Called Yamaha Tech Support Today !

Just purchased a boat with a 2004 225 ox66 and I've been seeing people posting about seafoam and how good it is ! The person I talked to at Yammie told me to always use ring free and don't waste your money on seafoam ! He said that Stabil is just the same as theirs ! So I'm going to listen to a certified Yammie tech and use the Stabil ! Why would this person misguide me ? Stabil It Is !!!!!

One thing to remember... tech support personnel are most usually reading from company materials to answer questions. Many of them wouldn't know a torque wrench if you smacked 'em with one. Go talk to ten genuine certified mechanics & I'll bet each will give a slightly different answer.
I know for a fact that seafoam will do the same job that ringfree does, it's cheaper, more widely available and if you take 2 outboards, run each 100hrs one on seafoam the other on ringfree, without chemical analysis of the deposits in the engine there's not one person around who can tear them down & tell which one is which without a lucky guess.
Best of luck with your new rig, you should be very happy with the Yammie, I've yet to have one let me down.

I am going with what Nathan @ HT recommends...Ringfree. In fact he commented that he could tell that I had been using it, when my engine had been in for some work. No carbon. Ringfree is cheaper to use than Seafoam. Doesn't Seafoam require more than RF to mix?

I think we can all agree that the people using carbon preventor either ring free, seafoam, etc are better off than the other 90% of people that dont use any.

Nobody I talk to at the ramp anywhere around me use any carbon remover. BBC has educated quite a bunch..

I would not use stabil i have several small engines some that do not
get used alot and have not been happy with the results. this has nothing
to do with outboards only small engines.
