Mine's an '03 with 150. I'd say 50 to 70 a year is reasonable. It's not really the hours I'd be afraid of, it's how the engine was cared for.

The average boater puts from 50-100 hours a year on an engine. That being said, no 100 hours on an 05 is not alot.

It depends on the use. On my own boat, I run about 80-100 per year. My 02 had 64 hrs on it when I bought it in May 2006. It now has 159.

At work, some of our motors get 1500 per year and run like new. On average, I'd say we run anywhere from 500-1000 hrs depending on the boat they are on (marine law enforcement). Our highest set of 2005 F150's now has nearly 1700 hrs They are getting replaced this month.

Now that Yamaha is offering a 3 year warranty to government motors, I think we will be keeping them longer and putting well over 2000 hrs on many of them.

Depends on where ya live... My boat/motor has 117 hours since 2003. Michigan winters are too long.

Yes, the winters are too long, but don't forget that you also drive faster than most in Michigan so you don't run as long!

(most of the time, but that video from the rally hasn't been posted.... )

I don't have that video, so I can't post it. Darn.

It still looked sweet flyin' across the water!
