Spun a hub today..

I posted this in the prop forum also:
I spun the rubber hub in my TXP today...I never hit a thing...The prop is spotless, but I was running across the lake at 77 mph and the boat just started slowing down, but the rpms were going up, then it dropped off pad and the rpms went way up...I stopped and found the hub was spun...Swapped props and everything was fine the rest of the day...What does this look like to you??? I had been told that the HPDI's would melt the hubs. but the EFI's were OK...I don't have 2 hours running time on the prop ...

With only 2 hours on the props my guess is the hub wasn't seated properly.

I spun one about a week ago. Had no idea what I had done, but my guess would be like the above, porbably wasnt in properly

You can get the TXP's with a T-lock hub system. It will not give if you hit something, but it will also solve your problem of spinning the hub.

I took the prop to Mark Croxton today and he rubbed it for me...He said he did not feel like there is anything wrong, just that the hub let go...Since it spun so fast, I also think it was just a bad original hub....If it happens again, then I will try to figure out what is causing it...
