I'm looking at a '99 Skeeter with a 130 hp yammie on it. This boat will be used for fishing 75% of the time but I'd also like to waterski a little. How much strain would this put on the motor? Is its design similar to a 150 hp motor or does the 130 actually have somewhat smaller/weaker components that might fail from the repeated stress of towing a skier? Thanks for the input. 130 is a v4 motor. 150 is a v6 motor. What size the boat is (model # will tell that) and what is the max horse power that the boat is rated for. You can find the HP rating on the coast guard tag in the boat. It will be yellow.
i think that those motors share several common parts like pistons and cranks but I am not sure about that. They are both loop-charged as well. Hope this helps some.
