    Yamaha digtal gauge issue....

They are accurate within 1 mph to my GPS on the last 3 boats I owned.....

The problem is after my speedo gets to 82 it wont read any higher.... My GPS keeps climbing but water starts comming out from the back of the speedo.... Is there a pressure relief valve in there? Does the speedo hose need to be zip tied again? I cant look under the dash at 80+ nor can I find someone else to...

I would like the speedo to stop leaking and read full speed...

Well the easest way to fix your problem which is only one of many!
Don't drive over 80!! not hard to figure out!

Put another zip tie on it and us the gun that gets them really tight.

I guess this is a good problem to have.... Too fast. I may try and wrap a wire around the nipple like a twist tie and snug it down good leaving the zip tie on..... For some reason I think it's comming out of the inside of the gauge.

    Mine stops at 120 knots...

Guys with newer Yamaha speedo gauges can just plug into their GPS NMEA output wires and forget the water tube all together. Change the dip switch on the back to read from the GPS instead of the tube.

But if you HAVE to use the water tube....
You can get one of those pressure testing kits and connect your speedo tube to it then pump it up (with the key ON...) and see where it's leaking from. You can do it in the driveway, not even on the water, where it's safe. Something like a KD-3700 pump or something like it would work. Depending on the age of the gauge and how many freezing winters it's gone through, it may just be worn out.
Just attach the hand pump to the speedo tube back at the motor so you can test your current connections under the dash.

Any hand held pressure pump with a pressure gauge will work but here's the KD-3700....

My analog reads no higher than 35. It used to read ok until I raised the engine. I hope you get it fixed.

I used to have that problem until I installed a Nordskog digital gps speedo. Now I have accurate gps speeds that I can actually see while running. Then you can plug the hose at the LU.
