    pleasure boaters on KY lake

fished a tourney out of fenton yesterday. every time i got on a ledge, i'd have 20 pleasure boaters have to run right next to me to see what i was doing. they'd wave and damn near knock me out of my boat with their wakes..

boat traffic has never bothered me before, but with the semi strong wind yesterday, it made things very rough in my 19.5 foot boat..

i could understand if i was sitting in a channel or something, but there were 0 channel markers anywhere near me.

Re: pleasure boaters on KY lake (StratosNCO)

A couple weeks ago, Buzzking and I were fishing a flat just inside of the main channel. I was 75 yards into the channel, but the main channel was at least 500 yards wide there. A huge cabin cruiser (30' +) was trying to make a point I guess and drove within 20' of us. I threw my hands up and made a few choice words and the dude stopped. I instantly lit into him. (Kyle got scared and crawled under the console )

His arguement was that I was in the channel. Sure, I was, but the channel was huge right there and he had plenty of area to go around. He was being a (edit) about it. It took me 20 minutes to calm down.

After the guy drove away, Kyle got up from under the console and said he had my back the whole time!

I believe I was on the phone with cassell at the time, didn't pay it any mind because if you're gonna sit there you're gonna get traffic. Mr Smalljaw just wasn't used to fishing more than 2 casts from the bank

i expect it if i'm in a channel, but i was nowhere near a channel marker. i was on the flat near moors resort, so i guess i should've expected it. I did get a big bass check for a 5.8 i caught there but i had to work for it...

Said it more than once...there is a reason I quit guiding on Saturdays from Memorial Day to Labor Day and it has nothing to do with the fish not biting on Saturdays.....

Bounced a 3/4oz jig off of the side of a small houseboat a few weeks back. I was fishing the mouth of a creek and instead of following the marked channel behind me the asshat cut the corner in front of me. He watched me cast and hit the side and threw up the hands and wtf'd. I did the same and pointed to all the water behind me. I was hoping the whole time he would hit one of the stumps on the shallow flat.

If you were in the vicinity of Moors on the weekend, you just have to expect it though.

I'm going to remove my butt seat and mount a 50 cal up there, I figure after I burn 2 or 3 200 round belts thru there alot of the pleasure boaters might steer clear of the Red Stratos

I really regretted not slinging my 3/4oz jig into the side of that brand new looking cruiser.

I was spooning a hump 150 yds. from the main channel ,I was not aware of this cruiser bearing down on me.He almost sunk me.I don't know if he even saw my boat and I was glad my bilge pumps worked.

I can honestly say that in all my years of fishing, I have never heard the phrase "spooning a hump!" Most fishermen will know what that means, but I still got a laugh from it.

At your age, I figured it would take a while to your "trousers" down. By then, they would be long gone!
