Where to stay near KY Lake

I will be fishing our tournament of champions on KY Lake at the end of October. We are launching out of Kenlake State Park in Hardin. We can stay at Kenlake hotel for $70/night. I was trying to find a cheaper place to stay because we will be there for 3 or 4 nights. Where else is a good place to stay at an affordable price? My friend seen a motel not far for $50 a night, it is Early American Motel. Anybody now this motel and know any good or bads about it? Thanks.

I stayed at the Early American back in January. Not fancy at all, but functional. For the price you can't expect too much Perfect for the fisherman, since it's just a place to sleep.

Others include Ken Oak, and the Fin N Feather. Parking will probably be an issue with all of them, so take several extension cords.

As for the post about Ken-Bar, that's near KY Dam Marina, not Kenlake.

Murray is about 20 minutes away and has several chain hotels (Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Baymont Inn, etc.). There's a Wal-Mart, bars, restaurants, a tackle store, and other stuff if you find yourself needing something.

Same guy owns Ken Oak and Early American. They will probably be about the same price as Kenlake state park hotel room but the units are bigger and have a refrigerator and stove.

Your choices are limited in that immediate area, and the guys have covered them. The next options would be Murray or the Jonathan Creek area. Be sure to bring all your buddies to see me at Fisherman's Headquarters in Draffenville. I have a full line tournament pro shop and am adding new items every week.
