    Spring trip.

Have a buddy that is looking for a spring break trip this spring. He wanted to know where to go in Ky. in late march. Any suggestions. They want to camp, or maybe a cabin if they can afford it. They have a 17' aluminum boat, so I was thinking the twins would be a bit too big to tell them to go there...

At that time I would still send them to DH or Barren

+ 1. They can go to Dale Hollow and camp or you can find cheap places to stay as well. Horse Creek has a hotel for 35 a night that has all you need. Kitchen, bed, and shower. They can keep the boat in the water fro $5 a day too.

what is the fishing like that time of year. These guys are not tournament anglers and are just looking for some fun fishing where they can catch a lot of "whatever bites"...

i would imagine the smallmouth bite would be at its best, the largest mouth will be a little tougher to catch, but what you do catch will be quality fish. and the spots should be rockin that time of year..

You could always stay at Lake Barkely STate park launch in Little River and never have to get on the main lake. Its hard to say what March will be like but the water temps where 70 degrees in March last year. Hopefully it won't warm up that quick but the trap bite should be going on at that time.

You can try and book Dave Stewart that way you can ask to work Little River and maybe hit more of the lake with him. His lake orientation and eliminating water is very useful on any lake.

I agree with barkley. They can fish little river til blue in the face and still not see it all. The can go to Kuttawa and fish in there and never have to go to the main lake. And they can catch them in Buzzard Rock and never have to go to main lake. All of these places have a ramp inside them, are protected, and all have plenty of fish!!

That time of year, Dale Hollow is going to be on fire with the smallies. Throwing a jig, jerk bait, and dragging live bait, you should have several double digit days!! One 4lb smallmouth (which is very attainable on Dale) beats the hell out of 10 2lb slickheads imo.
