    telltale stream smokin.

    fired up the mercury after a month, no problem, but the water coming out the stream was very hot, i just had the muffs on it. 175efi. what's the deal?

    Is it a 2.5 . It will be hot water running across the heads and out after the motor is warm up ? IT will be to hot for touch .

    i think the 175 is a 2.5, i don't want to sound dumb, but the water slightly comes out hot after a few minutes.

    The tell tale flow is controlled by the thermostats and water won't flow out of it until thermostats start to open and that's going to be around 120* plus water so yes it's hot to the touch....
