Help on Rewiring 97 Nitro Trailer

Guessing it's a Trailstar, i.e. all the wires are run inside the box tubing, so you can't see any of it. There are 5/8 inch holes in it where the side marker lights are. How the heck to you get to this marker light wiring? That hole is tiny! How did the originally wire this thing? I have to pull the old lights off then pull new wires through, and I'm afraid I won't be able to rewire the side marker lights...
I think we're gonna need a bigger boat...

I use a wire from a grocery store that they use to make cardboard bales with to help pull through. For your side marker I suggest you take a stiffer piece of wire make a hook in the end and reach in the hole and grab the new wire in the tube. Or you could run a wire from the side marker hole to the front or back of trailer and splice in.

Thanks. that sounds like my best options. Keep blowing fuses in the truck, so I gotta have a hot wire touching ground somewhere. Its old eongh, that I think its best to just rewire...

Maybe you could get some "string" or fishing line and tie to the old wires B4 you pull them out, them tie it to the new wires and pull them back through.
Gonna have to have at least two people to pull all the strings at the same time to get everything back to the right places. I never have tried this, but when I need to rewire my tube trailer I was gonna try this. Will have to pull the brown wire through the hole for the side markers to make your splice.
Let me know how it works.
    Good luck.

You should be able to tape your new wire to the old wire before you pull it out and then the new wire will pull through when you do.

But if you wound up having to pull the new wire all the way...one trick I've used to pull wire in existing walls in homes is to...get some light string (twine, or yarn,etc.). Get your wife's vacuum and see if you can stick the vacuum hose at the side marker hole and create enough suction to pull the light string all the way thru. Then you can tie the new wire to it and pull it thru. This works great in walls...just haven't tried it on a trailer.

Just a thought that may help

It would be best for you to attach the new wires to the old ones before you pull em out.
The vacume trick works if youve already pull the old out.

Ran the wiring a few weekends ago, had to pull the steps/wheelwells off to get to the marker lamp holes fully. after that it was easy... All LED lighting now!
