    Re-wiring trailer plug

I read all of the sticky's and diagrams, bought a new 5 flat plug from area boat dealer. Used connectors ran into the following probs:

Old Ranger plug (Z-20) Looking from four male plugs to right female plug)
    2 red wires,1 grn wire 1 yellow wire, 1 grn/brn wire,1 yellow /brn wire, 1 white(ground) wire.

    New plug (5 flat)
    1 blue wire,1 grn/brn wire (spliced together,1 yellow/brn wire(spliced together),1 white ground.

My Install: 2 red wires(old plug) spliced to blue wire new plug, yellow wire and yellow/brn(old plug) spliced to yellow/brn(new plug), green wire and grn/brn wire (old plug) to grn/brn (new plug) and white(old) to wht (new plug). Lit up trailer but turn signal in truck and trailer and brakes lights work improperly...

Need help?? Did I splice to many wires???Is this right plug??? Used heavy connectors and dialectic grease??? Trying to fish this weekend???

Green wire should be for right side signal, Yellow for left side signal, there should be a brown wire on the new plug. maybe two brown wires from the way it looks here.

    "New plug (5 flat)

Splice the brown wire or wires to the grn/brn and yellow/brn on the old plug.(running lights) to the brown wire or wires on the new plug. Sounds like you have two brown wires on the new plug so just use one for each side. The green and brown wires on the new plug should not be spliced together same thing for the yellow and brown.
    Good luck
