With the boat still on?
My trailer paint could use a do-over. Anybody tried to paint the trailer frame, leaving the boat up on the bunks? I dont have any nearby water to offload the boat in.

Anyone have any pics of a "spray on bed liner" trailer? Sounds like a great idea just want to see what it looks like.

WOW, looks great. I'm inspired.
That is sweet!!!! What a GREAT looking alternative to paint.![]()
I agree. Don't paint it. Use spray-on bedliner.
I redid my trailer (used to be white with rust accents) almost 2yrs ago with the boat and bunks still on it. I sanded off any loose rust, applied OSPHO rust treatment to the rest of trailer, then used Duplo spray-on bedliner. Took about 8 cans to do the entire trailer. I bought a roll of the painter's plastic to wrap around the boat and bunk boards and anything else I didn't want to get paint on. A little bit of elbow grease, but otherwise, wasn't too difficult. Almost 2 yrs later, with one winter stored outside, and the trailer still looks good as new.

Take a look at a Ranger trailer. That's what they use for their Road Armour.

I have a galvanized trailer that I would like to paint to match my boat, burgandy with cream pin stripes. What process do I have to go thru? Do I need to sandblast the trailer? The trailer is a 1995 "Magic Trailer" brand.
I also want to replace the "Rims" as they are galvanized also. What back spacing do I need to look for? They are 15" rims.
Thanks!
I just got done repainting my trailer just used some spray paint. sanded rust converter wax and grease remover primer base and clear used the auto wrap to cover anything that i didnt want to get painted removed the side bunks and went at it. came out pretty well also wrapped my boat. just used oracal 651 vinyl cost about 50 bucks for the vinyl and a pizza to get a freind to help hold and place.
