I have a 2001 ranger trail trailer. on the pig tail that plugs into the truck the plug has 7 wires going into a 5 pole flat plug. I messed this plug up bad and was wondering if i could take those 7 wires and run it into a 7 round plug.

Do you have 2 brown wires going into the 5 way flat? If you got a new 5 way you could splice both brown wires to the one brown wire from the new plug.(if that's how the new one is set up. Which other color do you have 2 of? Should be able to do it the same way. If you go with the 7 way round I think you will still end up with 2 wires to one post somewhere.
