    Lock for swing away tounge

I got my new boat trailer with a swingaway tounge. Space is not an issue so I will rarely use it but figured I may need it one day and would help with resale. I have heard the storys about punks who like to yank the pins out. What kind of lock would I use to lock it on a EZ Loader?

Neil, I don't know of a lock for that, but maybe someone does. I would carry a spare pin with me anyway for just such an occasion.

Here are the locks I use for towing and storage.

    DuraSafe Locks
Stainless steel class III or IV receiver lock (P/N RL888SS)
    2-1/2" stainless steel coupler lock (P/N C13SS)
Swing away tongue lock stainless steel (P/N TL001)
    Phone 262-544-5615

I purchase all 3 so they were all keyed alike. You can purchase them individually.

my trailer came with one. It looks just like the pin except it has a D-ring handle and a large washed welded to one end then the lock slips over the other end like some of the receiver locks you see if I find out the brand I will let you know.

I don't leave my pin in the tongue unless I'm pulling the trailer. I throw it on the Driver's seat when I park at the ramp and when I park it at home it goes in a plastic coffee can in the back of my Trailblazer with my other stuff like plug, fishfinder display and keys.

I drilled the keeper pin hole out bigger and use a regular coupler lock in it.
