    Smartcraft question again..

I believe I have a level 1 but I am not 100% sure. If I go by this chart: http://www.mercurymarine.com/_...l.pdf it says that level 2,3 only will give you the total engine hours or is this just the newer models?

What i'm trying to figure out is if I can hook my humminbird up to the smartcraft. Humminbird finally came out with a upgrade to the NEMA 2000 hookup. I'm not wanting to import the information to the humminbird however I would like to import gps data from the humminbird to the merc monitor. Is it possible? If you need the serial number or version of smartcraft, I'll get it tomorrow if you tell me where to find it.

    Thanks for all the help.

Sometimes I need my ATV when in my boat and sometimes I need my boat while riding my ATV.

When you first turn your key "on".... a Version Number is displayed while the unit is powering up.

If you can provide this version number... it will be very helpful.

If this is the same instrument that you purchased back in 3/10, it was a BASE model, and does NOT contain the NMEA-2000 gateway.

It's only GPS input protocol is NMEA-0182 (and requires a version of 2.0 or earlier Nmea-0182).

The remaining option would be to purchase a Level 1 Instrument (your data cable and Junction Adapter can remain in place). Give our Parts Department a call if you'd like to discuss this option.

OOH!! Well the unit is now NEMA 0182. I thought the Merc monitor was NEMA 2000 and thats why I haven't hooked it up. So I should be able to hook it then.?

So my merc monitor will only allow for importation and NOT exportation. Correct? I'm wanting to import from the bird to the monitor. And yes this is the unit I bought from you.

You are correct in that your Mercmonitor will only IMPORT on Nmea-0182 (allowing you to import GPS Speed).

Version 5.01 and later Level 1 MercMonitor's (or Level 2 and above in any version) contain the Nmea-2000 protocols for Import (RX) and Export (TX) of data.
