make your own out of cardboard. it will outlast all of the storebought by a longshot and you can make it as big as you want. I have been using the same one for a long time and it has not even started to wear out.

I brought a bale of cotton 20 years ago. Each summer I wrap it with saran wrap and shoot the heck out of it with field tips and broad heads. If it starts to get loose I re-wrap it. Works great and I am still shooting it. Takes two fingers to pull out the arrows. I've never had a pass thru.

I would agree the Block 4x4 is a good field point/broadhead target but the downside is it's pricey. I make my own with 4'x4' sheets of foam stacked and use ratchet straps to tighten as needed. When it gets loose, just put a few cranks on the straps. You have four shootable sides if you move your straps 90degrees after you wear out the first two sides. You must only shoot the sides that expose the layers of foam. I also use an adhesive between the layers to keep the foam from pulling out when broadheads are removed. It will happen regardless but this stops large chunks from coming out. This holds up good and can be made at a price much cheaper than a Block 4x4 and it can be as big or as little as you want to make it. The key to getting longevity out of any target is to utilize the entire surface area when shooting at it. I use a bright orange paint marker to put numerous small dots on the target to shoot at. This spreads out the damage by numerous shots. It's alittle work, but in my opinion worth it. The one downside is my target is too heavy to want to make it transportable but it is also a big target.

Re: Recomend a new target (jaystein21x2)

I bought Janet and I a block for Christmas. I have already shot through it with less than a hundred shots!! Small peices of foam keep coming out when I pull my broadheads.. Glendell 's tarket S@@@. My full ruts legs would not stay on from the getgo and I had to gorilla glue them on.....

Rhinehart..... If you can shoot it out they will replace it. When you take an arrow out it seals itself.

Re: Recomend a new target (tat900)

If you shoot around 300 FPS or more the 18-1 targets are terrible to get arrows out of. The target is so low to the ground you almost have to flip it up and pull the arrows towards your face to get them out. I took mine back.

With that being said, that Rinehart 3-d targets are my favorite on the 3-d course because how well the arrows pull out and how they are always in better shape than others allowing me to still be able to see the score rings.

Interesting video on targets. Even though he's selling a target brand it still gives you an idea about differant targets. Wish he had tested the Reinhart targets also!
