I got a 2011 pro xs, walked by it in my basement couple days ago and noticed a spot of oil under the lower unit, rubbed my finger on the nose cone and it had oil on it, appears its coming out of the water inlet holes, anybody ever seen this? Taking it to my dealer monday.
mine did the same thing last year (2010 200 pro xs) it was a seal at the bottom of the motor that was leaking. pretty sure they had to pull the powerhead to replace it.
I'm not sure how to post the link to a thread but I started one here a week or so back and Don was right on. More than likely it is either a shift shaft or drive shaft seals on gear case leaking. Check for water in gear case!
I replaced my seals and still had the leak...slightest wobble in drive shaft...found out I have a bad bearing in lower unit...now I get to rebuild.
Driveshaft seal or shift shaft seal is the MOST likely cause.
A pressure test of the gearcase (to check for leaks) would be in order.
