Anyone here have experience leveling floors? My 2-story house was built in 1987, I've been in it 1994. I don't know if there's a level spot in the house after settling for 23 years. Been thinking of taking some screw jacks and trying to level it. Any tips or suggestions?

We tried this about 30 years ago to an old farm house. Didn't see where it did much good. Your house took 23 years to settle so you can't just jack it back up. There is a process to it that takes a long, long, long time. I think its something like 1/8 or 1/4 turn every week or so. If you do it to fast you will just create cracks throughout your house. Do your research before attempting this.
I worked on a settled home repair many yrs. ago.The 1st thing is to determine why it settled in the 1st place. Look for the obvious stuff 1st.Bad soil or compaction.The one I worked on was built on a filled in low land & we had to putin pilings to start a foundation on.Good luck.
