Changing Oil type for Pro XS 250

Hey Don, I talked with the guys who are prepping my boat for me to pick it up tomorrow. They are putting Mercury Premium Plus in it. What steps do I need to take to switch to the Optimax/DFI oil? Also, I found Quicksilver synthetic for DFI and large Horsepower engines. Would that oil be okay to use or should I stick with the mercury?

    Thanks

the Premium Plus and DFI oil are compatible with each other, just run it down some and top it off with DFI oil

If you are having to break it in, a lot. During my first 2 hours, I burnt almost 2 gallons.

Remember, they double oil for the 1st couple hours.

Note: Optimax/DFI oil says "just that" on the bottle.

Quicksilver bottles labeled "Synthetic Blend" (especially those found at your local "Wally World") are likely just PREMIUM PLUS.

    Optimax/DFI oil is a brownish/tan color.

There is an on-line site called, Doma, I think that will sell you the oil. However, after shipping the price is about the same as at a dealer.

Try a larger dealer. There's GOT to be someone down there carrying the correct oil... preferably from bulk supply (where you can get a better price).

I know there is a bass pro shop down there. The tracker section should have it
