    Save phace tip

I use a product called rain-X on my save phace mask to make the water roll off of it. It works great. I bought the save phace to wear when its raining, but had a heck of a time seeing through the rain drops on the lense, but with the rain-X it rolls right off of it.

You can also put it on the inside and it won't fog up.

    Re: Save phace tip (metalman76)

I'm thinking of switching to a motorcycle helmet. My lens on the save phace keeps getting scratched up. I have been using it without the lens and goggles. A lot of guys I know say the motor cycle helmet is the way to go. I just can't see it being that comfortable in the summer and it takes up a lot of room. Thoughts?

the motor cycle helmet is nice but it is heavy on your head in rough water. the save phace is nice for the wider vision, its light weight and they should not fog up as long as you take care f them. DO NOT rub the inside of the lens as it takes off the coating that is on there. I put mine in a pillow case to protect the lens. If you are having issues with the lens give them a call and see what they have to say

I bought the bag that SavePhace sells to protect the lens, but it is very light weight and I think it blew out of my boat. Anyway I now keep in one of those cloth grocery bags you can buy in any grocery store for $1. Ed

We use our ski goggles when it's cold out, they have venting to help with fogging are tinted and have a wide viewing angle, besides we already had them so we just keep a few pairs in the boat now.

I can fix it, and if I can\'t fix it, I can fix it so no one can fix it!

if its scratched get a micro fiber towel (brand new) and use Mothers plastic polish, it'll make the lens MUCH better and help slick it up so rain will roll off.

+1 I keep mine in a sock cap as well and if it's cold enough for the Save Phace - it's cold enough for the cap! I'll have to try the shoe string trick though - that'll help keep it in there.

My son and I keep our save phaces in the bags save phace sells and so far the lens' haven't scratched. I like the idea about the rain-x I'll try that.

Helmet is great. However think about this. You get thrown from a boat with a helmet on and your head is coming off especially if it is strapped on. At least that is what the water patrol told me in the Ozarks. Might be BS but he said the water would try to pull the helmet off and the helmet will not give and pull or break your neck.

    Again may be BS.

Rain x is a great idea.

Actually, that is called bucketin, and is a true hazard. It may not happen, but the possibility does indeed exist.

I'm gonna have to call BS on this one! Maybe if you're in the army the force of an explosion could do this. But, if you hit the water with a helmet on????...you'd have to hit at just the right angle for the water to enter the helmet with enough force to do this...and even then...the visor is going to blow out first before it takes your head off.
