    New Eco MercMonitor

I've been seeing the advertisements for the new eco mercmonitor. Anybody seen or used one yet? Will it work with a 2005 250xs? How much would it cost for the monitor and all the hookups?

    Re: New Eco MercMonitor (jonathanholland07)

We've got MANY customers (and ton's of folks right here on BBC) running these.

Your engine IS compatible with this unit.

I've dropped you an IM with current information.

Re: New Eco MercMonitor (Jonathan Holland)

    Hey Jonathan!

I bought one of these from Don and I am extremely pleased. Don will set you up with exactly what you need.

The unit tells you everything that is going on with your engine and there are many accessories you can add.

There are some great write ups on how to do the installation yourself. I have a write up that I did myself that I can share with you if your interested.

I have no affiliation with Merc. or European Marine, just a very happy customer!

    Kent:

If you'd like to send me your write-up.... it might make a great addition to the Smartcraft Section of our "Commonly Asked- Commonly Used" sticky (and others might glean useful information from it). This might be especially helpful if you documented the NMEA-2000 networking portion of the install.

Re: New Eco MercMonitor (Jonathan Holland)

I bought the Merc Monitor from Don at European Marine as well. I installed myself with Don's and other's help by email. Not complicated. I needed more help making it talk to the Lowrance than installing. It was easy once I understood which windows to open. I wanted to be able to read PSI, Temp. and other info on my Lowrance screen. It has worked flawlessly. Seldom look at other gauges. This has been a fantastic addition to my boat. European Marine is great to deal with. By the way, I have no connection with Mercury or European Marine either.
    Thanks

Don installed mine and I love it. Gives you a world of info!

If you connect to your depth finder/GPS it is even more
a great value to your boat.

    Thanks again Don!

How complex of an installation is this thing, is it all plug and play?

    Re: New Eco MercMonitor (TexasCub)

I see that it can be hooked up through a Lowrance, but what about us guys that are running 'Birds? Are they compatible through the NMEA also?

Compatible with any "NMEA-2000" networked GPS display device.

Installation isn't bad- the hard part is running the data cable from the dash to the engine.

About 95% of the units we sell are "consumer installed".
