Questions for the guys that installed Bluwaters

When installing the deck lighting how are you guys running the wiring? Are your drilling into the gunnels and then hooking into the wiring in the rod lockers? Looking for cleanest way to do this. Thanks.

Re: Questions for the guys that installed Bluwaters (ChiefManyRises)

the way i did mine my boat had no factory lighting i ran my lights for the deck lighting in the gunnels and then in the front i have the bungee type rpod straps drilled a hole inside that juss big ebough for my wires to pss through and then wired em in right there then ran the wire across to the other side of the deck and in the back i ran mine juss up fome the battery compartment doors like in the corner by the hinge so the wires wouldnt get pinched so i didnt drill any holes in the fiberglass but you may have to dependin on were you want your lights at

    hope this helps

Re: Questions for the guys that installed Bluwaters (ChiefManyRises)

I'll post a close up pic later... but I installed my front deck lights with the wire going in under the end of the trim strip for the deck carpet. Reduced any wear and tear and bascially just continued a black stripe that was already there.

Once the wire was in, I used the little clips with adhesive backs on the underside of the deck to keep the wire out of the bottom of the boat and keep the wires together and organized (if that makes sense). I did have to use a little extra adhesive to get them to stick, but the aren't visible even when you take my compartments out.

As for the rod locker lights, I bascially ran a main power wire and neg to the front of the boat - ended it at the light and then T'd everything else into it at the same point. Put all the connections in one spot. Easy to diagnose if there are issues.

Thanks for the reply. I like the idea of hiding it behind the rod strap holder.

I go into the rod buckle or strap and I always use black hot glue to conceal and protect the wires.

Anytime you are ready bring your boat up and we can do it. We have plenty of room. We are right accross the river in Jeffersonville.

I drilled very small holes in the gunnel under the rod straps. It does not take a very big hole at all.
The lights on the front deck close to the cockpit, I drilled the hole straight down into the deck. I moved the black rubber trim out of the way to give me access to the area to drill. Here are some pic's

Installation depends on the product, but all "Blue Water" branded product costs $45 per hour plus $5 per hour Terminal Supply charge to install with a maximum charge of three hours. In other words, if you did the "Total Boat Package" which may take longer than three hours, we would only charge you for three.

Absolutely, and I have plenty of room so you could leave it until it is convenient to pick up.
