okay, so i got my carpet in yesterday from basscat. i ordered the amount they recommended but it came in 2 rolls. i'm hoping there is an easy way to make sure the two rolls have the grain of the carpet going the same way. i haven't unwrapped them yet so it might be obvious but thought i would ask you guys first.
Should be easy to tell. Look at the grain from the side of the roll, it will lay one direction. make sure both rolls (grain) are laying the same direction, and the grain pointing to the rear of the boat when installed.
now one more question...what type of trim do you guys think is better? the "butt to" kind or the "overlapping" kind?
Go with the rubber molding from Bass Cat. It will over lay the carpet...Great stuff, has adhesive backing, real easy to install... As far as the grain goes, lay it out as already stated, but run you hand down the carpet with the grain. one direction the carpet will stand up, and the opposite direction the carpet will lay down...Make sure you have this going the same way also......Mike
