    ? for BASSCAT7

Can you roll on gel coat? If so I know that it sets up quick but can you delay the hardning of gel to be able to work it. Reason I ask I don't have air compressor , to spray on gel. Thanks.

Where are you applying it? If your doing a bilge compartment up grade no problem with roller.

You can roll gelcoat but it's not recomended to try and do an entire hull. Spot repairs or transom finishes are usually what you see done by roller. ( or bilges like Scott mentioned .)

Gel is not self leveling like paint is and will not lay flat like paint and you'll need to roll on a number of coats to leave it thick enough to sand down the rough orange peel finish you will have from rolling.
And you better really like to sand if thinking of doing the entire hull.
You could work a good sized area before the gel starts to kick with a roller, and you'll need a lot of acetone for keeping the rollers clean and uncured.
Generally catalyze the gel with 2% MEKP will give you about 10 - 15 minutes of rolling time.
    Medium nap rollers work best.

Need 3- 4 coats with the last coat being finishing gel with wax so it will cure.

If you are going to redo the entire hull, and want it to look decent, it's best to find someone with a compressor and spray gun, the gel will lay 10 x better than rolling it.

Yes, that's what I thought going to invest into a air compr. Thanks for the insight.
