    1982 Skeeter SS-1 Sport Fisherman Restoration...In Progress

Been using another forum in an attempt to find answers to my restoration questions and learned that they have little interest in bass boats. So I have found this forum, perhaps I will find people more interested in my restore that can answer my questions.

I don't want to flood you with pictures up to this point, but Here is my photo bucket album, if your interested please check it out.

My current question is concerning the livewell plumbing and intake/drain thru-hull fittings. My boat has 2 pipes that run the full length of keel, 1 intake and 1 drain. When i got this project one of the 2 thru-hull filltings was not there, so I dont know how they had it set up. The 2 holes are too close together to fit 2 fittings there, in the picture I traced the outside of both and you can see they will overlap. Any Idea what would have been there originally? Since I could not find an answer I was going to reglass that area and do new holes, but if someone here knows Id appreciate it

The 2 holes, 1 drain, 1 intake, 3rd is the bilge drain

JD, welcome to BBC. I'm sure others will be along to help too but I was thinking you may want to re-post this question in the Skeeter forum as well in case someone there owns a similar boat.

From looking at your pics, it looks like there would have been a fitting that covered both holes... good luck with this one!

you could make the middle hole the bilge drain using an aluminum tube. You can also get a valve from flow rite that lets you use one hole for drain and fill for the live well..... https://www.flow-rite.com/cata...alves

Did the boat only have one livewell or two?

boat has one livewell, the plumbing was still there, 2 hoses, 1 connected to aerator/fill pipe and other connected to drain, both ran full length to transom, 1 was connected to a thru-hull, the other was just lying there in the bilge. I saw those flow-rite valves and Am seriously considering that option, need a new pump anyways so may as well re-plumb it all with more modern equipment. I appreciate the welcome and the quick response. Will continue to post progress as I go.

got a little work done, Sanded and filled 1/2 of her today, waiting for filler to cure before doing final sand prep. should have it finished by Monday with prep and filling, then prime Monday, paint Tuesday-Thursday (lotta time to cure/harden) Flip it on Friday and get ready to rebuild stringers and deck. We'll see how she goes and keep ya all updated

mine didn't have one when I got it either, but i found another old hull for free with a windshield that will fit so going to add it during restore

I had looked into getting one fabbed and woulda cost me alot more than i was willing to pay so free is good...I just need to decide what to do with the hull I take it off of now...do not need 2 project boats!

I don't know how much room you have in the bilge drain, but could you fill the holes and redrill them alittle further apart? Just a thought.

there isnt much room since the bilge isnt connected to the transom, they glassed in a block of wood to make it wide enough for a copper drain. I believe I have decided to go with the single hole, and use a flow-rite valve...35 bucks and its done!

got my cradle built so I can flip it once paints done and I know the hull wont warp while I am rebuilding the stringers/deck. If it can move in this cradle then I did something really wrong lol
