I have a 1988 Skeeter SX 175 SF and I think the transom is done for. I don't have the room to do this repair myself. So, what is a ballpark figure on getting this done right??? Thanks for your input!

Technically more than the hull is worth. I am not sure what it cost for a shop to do it but you ain't gonna be happy. Also depends on how bad the stringers and such are also. Not trying to be a smart ass or noth'n, but if you really love the boat and you can't do it yourself your your gonna have a chit load of money in it. It will be cheaper than buying a new one.Hope someone can give ya better advice.

If it is just a transom replacement, figure around $ 2500.00 if they do not run into any other problems.
If the stringers and braces need replacing keep adding $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
if you cant or dont want to do it yourself and the boat has no sentimental type value just sell it and get another. Check out my "transom repair" you could open yourself a big can of worms.
Thank you. I was really afraid it was going to be more than 2K. It just really sucks, I have replaced almost everything else on the boat the past year, doing all the work myself. I put 2,500 into her. I would pay 1,500, but it's hard to spend more than that on an older boat... The motor is an older Evinrude, but runs very strong, I put hyd steering on her and just replaced the TM with a 80lb too.

You can do it yourself I just done redoing my transom in my 93 Skeeter, take the motor off and cut out the old transom from the top cap, I used Arjay and it worked great and if your boat is the size of mine you can get 5 gallons for under 200 and you will have plenty of product. I have less than 400 in my transom replace and was told by a fiberglass place 2000-2500 for a new transom.
