I have a '96 Skeeter that had a very faded finish. I read a million posts on here and finally took on the job of wet sanding and buffing, luckily most of the topcap is white.
I started with 1500 grit sandpaper and finished with 2000 grit. I then used Buff-Magic on a Optimum double-sided wool pad. The pad being double sided does help get into tight places but it does shed like a sheepdog in the summertime. I had wool all over the place.
I then polished it with Pro Polish. I almost didn't bother with the Pro Polish because the finish was already looking good to me.
