    Composite Transom material

Anyone ever replaced the transom and stringers in a boat with composite material? If so what did you use and where do you get it? We did the transom with wood back in 2003 and it is fine. We patched the stringers while we had the cap off, but I think it is time to replace them. Would like to use something other than wood and I am considering the replacement of the transom(Again) while I have it exposed.

It is a 1988 Skeeter Starfire and I just spent five grand(Total rebuild and all new electrical components) on the Mercury 150 so I am keeping the boat. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jack

Re: Composite Transom material (Jack Yates)

I haven't used it but SeaCast can be used to build stringers. Read all of the info on there website. They have clammed to have used it in high performance offshore boats I belive.
