Started the resto on my 92 ranger 681. Ripped the carpet out took of all the lids, removed the top rails, cleats and anything else that would come off, scraped all the glue, the acetone worked great but definitly keep the dor open, wow.... Vacummed the crap up gave it a good wash and started wetsanding. Going into this I had no experience in wetsanding or polishing. I followed basscats link to the T. I also looked up wetsanding on you tube, talked to multiple boat resto shops, spoke with bassboatcarpet.com those guys were awesome. Anyway started wetsanding with 1000 grit got the top and the hull done, lots to do yet. I'm planning on hitting it with 1500, and then 2000. I did a test area where I used the high speed buffer with the compound, glaze, and then meguires tek wax. It looked unbelievable!! I figure I have at least ten more hours in labor to do yet, but I'm hopefull and excited to see the end result. Thanks for the advice, I'll try and get some pics posted.![]()
