HELP!!!! I messed up...

I am in the process of reburbishing my boat. Got through the wet sanding ok. Started last night with the high speed buffer and the rubbing compound. Can already see a huge difference. As I was using the buffer, the hard plastic edge of the buffer must have been rubbing up against the rubber on the side of my boat.....while the gloss is coming back to life on the boat itself, now I have these scrapes (don't know what else to call it) on the rubber edge on the side of the boat I figurd it out after about 2-3 feet of buffing so I have these intermittent scrapes on the rubber which is right next to the newly shined up figerglass.

Any ideas on what I can do here to somehow fix this? Or am I stuck with it???

I don't know how you can fix it but to avoid this use the blue painters tape and tape off your rubrail.

You should be able to get a new rubrail from your dealer.

I masked off mine and spray painted it .
