I built a plain removable deck entension for my 1986 390V. It doesn't have built in storage but an open area under it for goodies. I use 3/4 inch exterior grade plywood for the 2 foot x 5 foot top and 1 foot x 2 foot legs. 1 x 2 inch hardwood was install under the top edge for reinforcement and provide an edge for the carpet. The legs were attached the the top with angle brackets. Due to the boat's curvature I used a piece of cardbord the make a template for the top. Prior to assembly I sealed the wood with spar varnish. It doesn't have the factory look but provides me a flipping deck.
Did you carpet this and how was the height compared to the rest ?
