Konawa 9/10

[Wheels]

Nothing, natta, zero, zilch....Had one bump a chartreuse spinnerbait first thing on the dam and nothing after that. Threw chart, white, black/blue spinnerbaits, every color crankbait, creatures, sweet beavers and every thing except the kitchen sink. Did pick up 3 sand bass and 4 hybrids in the power plant out flow. Hit Bandits in pearl and Excaliber in citrus.

The only good thing that happened was I ran in to Soonerfish. Had a great chat with him before he headed off to watch the Sooners game.

Looks like back to Wes Watkins tomorrow.

Fished the south (cool) end of the lake from first light until about 10:00 AM. Started with a black horny toad at the edge of the grass/weed beds around the intake....nothing! As the sun got up I moved deeper and threw lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits and a swibait (Storm wildeye shad). Worked the main lake points on the south side with a worm and fished the main Jumper Creek channel with a carolina rigged brush hog.

Bright spot of the day was meeting Wheels and his wife in person. Found them back on the north (hot) side looking for blacks or hybrids.

I helped a guy at the ramp who was having trailer problems. He fishs the lake a couple of times a week, he also had not caught anything. His experience was like mine with the schools that won't seem to hit anything. You start to see them about 9:00 AM. They don't stay up long. I have thrown everything in my tackle box at them and can't get a strike.

Wheels and I found that, at least on September 10th, the fishing at Konawa sucked.
