Murphy NC

I will be travelling to Murphy next month, to visit my father...Can any one offer me some advice on some local lakes, rivers anything that will produce some decent fishing? I greatly appreciate any help....

I have fished Hiwassee. Its a pretty good lake. They drop it about 20- 30 ft every year but its pretty good. My dad grew up fishing that lake. My grandparents live in Murphy so we fish it every summer. We usually do good on the lay downs around Hanging Dog ramp and strait across from the ramp. We also use a smoked or white colored tube and we will hit every point and usually wear out the smallmouth. Largemouths usually come on those lay downs though. Hope this helps and good luck.
