    Highland Lake 7-19 (Sorta long)

Russ and I got to the lake about 0645. We went to the northern part of the lake and as I was rigging my line, Russ caught his first bass of the day. He caught 3 more as I stood there watching. I was making an awesome spectator.

I made a beautiful cast right next to a rock and a patch of weeds. NOTHING!! Russ makes a beautiful cast as well to that same spot. SLAM!!! That just tells you I'm in for a long day. He sets the hook and the reel starts screaming. Russ gets the bass close to the boat and it appears to be over 5lbs and fatigued. Russ kneels down and reaches for the lip. One more thrash and she throws the hook and swims away. She threw the hook and sent it flying into the palm of Russ's right hand. DEEP!!!This is a 5/0 size hook. I watched it happening as if it was slow motion. Russ didn't even know it happened for about 10 seconds. Within an hour we were at the hospital waiting room. waiting...waiting...waiting. 4 hours later we were back at the launch putting the boat back in. We make it half way up the lake and fished 90 minutes and the thunder started. The storm missed us to the north. I was now catching them. Russ had 4 and I had either 3 of 4. no real size to any of mine. Over all good catching. I'll be posting the picture of his hand when I get home.( At my parents house). Russ ALSO has a video to share with us. Dr. Kosayda allowed Russ to video the extraction. This is an audio/video deal. We got off the water aat 1800 hours and the rain missed us. For only six hours of fishing, it sure was a long day.

That's why I wanted you to call me this weekend so we could discuss it. I guess you were too busy to call. I get home after 1930 most nights this week. Is that too late for you?

your window of opportunity to call was not conducive to my lifestyle. Then again, you did leave a im for me to call within the hour when even Ray Charles could have noticed I was not on-line The Mrs. usually gets home about 7:30pm. Is that close to 19:30 ?Anyways, it's busy here at that time. No biggie we'll catch up soon
