No big deal. Just a little drinking and some sitting. A little vasaline all around before the first blow out and after each visit will keep the paper burn to a minimum. Out like a light, back in no time. Some gas to pass. The worst part will be watching the video of yourself that whomever drives you home will be recording. If you got any secrets you don't want out, let a trusted buddy drive you home.

There is something beautiful in that little clip too. Look around a bit. Still on topic.

I waited way past 50. They found nine polyps, all good, but have to back in two years. Other than the taste the prep wasn't all that bad.

The prep is no big deal. It's the starving your ass off before the procedure that sucks.

On May 17 2023 after my Colonoscopy I was told the words no one wants to hear. My name and the word cancer in the same sentence. Fast forward till now and I just had my first post op. Colonoscopy. Everything’s good and I’m now 100% where I was on 03. If you’ve never had a Colonoscopy and are over 45 please see your doctor. Hope things go well and you get a good report.

After 65, they no longer suggest it unless there are issues.

As noted above, the prep is the worst part but it will clean you out better than a Hollywood colonic. The procedure is a non issue.

Last year I was due for my first and my doctor had me use a company that I pooped in a bag and shipped it ups. Said that was 99% as good.

The prep sorta sucks, it was a chore to get the last bit of stuff down…but the actual colonoscopy was a piece of cake since your out for the entire thing.

Please do yourself a favor and schedule a colonoscopy. My Dr said expect 8-10% inaccuracies with the poop in the box. No reason to risk it. Getting a colonoscopy is such a minor thing to do. Read up on missed pre cancer polyps and Colorguard accuracy. You'll see

Don't listen to the whiners. Plan on staying in when you drink the prep. the rest is a piece of cake. I've had 3 of them over the years

I am 53. Going to get my first one done in August. I have a pretty extensive family history of colon cancer. My mom had it. Not looking forward to the whole ordeal.

This and know insurance will only cover a colonoscopy if done first. If poop in a box is done first and it is determined a regular colonoscopy is needed due to lingering questions/ concerns it will be considered diagnostic and not covered.

My last one they called at 8pm and moved up my colonoscopy by three hours, 10am to 7am. I was in crisis mode because I had 3 hours less for “cleaning”. I started chugging like a kid drinking beer in college! My last movement was in the freaking waiting room. Insult to injury, doctor seemed pissed because the “water” in me wasn’t clear, he couldn’t get good pictures, told me I needed to “adhere to the prep standards better”. He got an earful, made him well aware they moved me up 3 hours and still never really stopped crapping!

I just did my 3rd colonoscopy. Prep yesterday, colonoscopy this morning. The prep now used by my gastroenterologist isn't as bad as they used to be, and they don't use as much air as they use to during the procedure, so I wasn't the least bit bloated when I came to and didn't have to fart once. They found one small polyp and removed it and as long as it checks out benign, I don't have to have another colonoscopy for 5 years.

To me the worst part now is not eating anything for about 34 hours. I got really hungry for a while. They did call me early this morning and said there had been some cancellations and that I could come in early, so I did. The first thing I do after leaving the surgical center is have whoever drove me take us to a nice breakfast spot and I buy us both a nice breakfast and today we finished with pie.
