It would be useless in a bass boat unless dead calm out and you broke down 50 feet from the dock, but it is required by law in my state, so yeah, I still have one in the boat.

Always carried one and it was required years ago but not sure now. Have used it a few times to turn the boat around in tight quarters and to tie the boat off to where you could push it into the ground.

    Not on the first date.
If I looked good in spandex and my boats paint had glitter, I’d fish for bass.

Yes on the paddle, handy to push away from our dock at the cabin, and stop you from crashing the dock in the wind, also have a digger anchor, and two fire extinguishers.

If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

My buddy got the full safety inspection recently. Nothing said about a paddle and he doesn't carry one. I guess it could be used to evict a water moccasin?

Our laws say you got to have an "alternate means of propulsion". I carry a paddle but I think a trolling motor on a bass boat fills that requirement. I got stuck on a sandbar once used the paddle. It bent double the first time I used it to push.
