I’m glad to see Trey move up to 12th place and Livesay moves up big time.

Easton made a comment this morning on Mercer’s morning segment that he was flipping and throwing spinning baits all day and he actually enjoys not looking at his screen. He said he likes this style because it’s like how he grew up fishing. Just shows these kids know how to do it all. It’s just that other guys haven’t adapted or learned to use the allowed tech.

Hard to use FFS when you are punching grass or flipping at visible targets 10 feet away from the boat

One thing remains consistent since the seventies in any given tournament any given day. 20% of the fisherman catch 80% of the bass. The 20% usually have the most water time. I doubt there is that much difference in the generations other than energy levels.

That's why he dominated during the FL swing where scope is irrelevant right?

    completely agree.

even now, I don’t know any outdoorsy family than can, or willing, to spend 100k on a boat.. most guys around here can’t even justify the cost of livescope.

the recreational angler has been priced out of the competitive circuit if they truly want to be competitive. Only the rich can afford the a relatively new boat and newer electronics.

    yes

Cliffnotes: FFS is the Devil and without it no top pro angler today could catch a fish without it.
If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

Top of the line? So that would be like a Gamin 8616 and LVS34? How you get something like that for $2,600?

All this debate about FFS and the such and I am just here wondering why we cannot get the A-rig back?

Yes I agree for grass mats it does not play,, but it sure does for flipping visible targets 10' away from the boat,, I use it in 5' of water to see if there are fish on cypress trees and laydowns,, if there are no fish then why flip to a target ,ffs is a great tool for eliminating dead water and when you have a bazillion targets it really helps ,,,,,,,,, and there is a lot of diverse things on the Sabine river to fish other than grass mats ,, I run my fwd transducer a couple clicks up and my other in perspective mode and it works great for these situations,, and these young guys are excellent at using FFS so I can not see how it would not play in this event ,, unless maybe they are all fishing the same grass mat

When it was all said and done, positions 2,3,4,5 and 9 of the final day top 10 are all known "scopers" with MANY more that made the 50 cut. They still catch them without scope. They are way more prepared than a most anti-FFS guys will give them credit for.
