If my unit is on the boat and not easily accessible, the only option is to write down the latitude and longitude of a few points, then check the chart view on the boat’s graph to see where they’re located. From there, I’ll note the positions, return to the computer, and make the adjustments.

Sorry, Wayne—this might be a dumb question, but how can I tell from the latitude and longitude when the waypoints switch to a different lake? Is it obvious? I’m planning to write down each group of waypoints before heading out to the boat, but I’m not sure where to stop if they belong to a different lake.

Just go by the numbers of the ones that are close to the same. Use the unit to establish the North and South end of a body of water. Then the East and West of that body of water. Then just match the ones that are within those boundaries.
