If they don’t like the rules there, they’re more than welcome to fish elsewhere.

There are hundreds of guys willing to risk bankruptcy who’ll gladly take their spot.

Yep there is no shortage of Individuals willing to pay for the chance on the Elite Stage so there won’t ever be any boycotts or a union.

Buy no means am I taking up for BASS or throwing shade. I'm simply stating my opinion on what I think best describes the situation...

BASS is a business. People call it a tournament organization but the bottom line is its a business. When you own a business your goal is to run a profit and maximize that profit the best you can. Now ask yourself this. How many business out there are 100% transparent and tell the truth 100% of the time. Again BASS is no different than any other business. They want to maximize their profit and sustain long term. If telling a small white lie or hiding the truth is what it takes then that's what they do. That's no different than any other business.

Oh hell yes I agree with your statement but will add the anglers are contract employees not direct employees. Remember I said I was not taking up for BASS or throwing shade. Everything I type in reply #23 could be said about the vast majority of businesses out there. Its just how business operate whether we like it or not.

I do not like ffs at all but I think it’s a little late to be banning it now. Does anyone know exactly what BASS asked. I have been asked my opinion many times and that’s what it is my opinion

    im with you.

Everyone has that point of when technology exceeds what they consider to be sportsmanlike. For me, it’s FFS but realize it’s just my opinion. I choose not to put it on my boat while acknowledging without it I’m at such a disadvantage that I wouldn’t enter tournaments above a club level because of it. People are able to choose freely to use it or not. just means less pressured fish on the bank.

i don’t think it should be banned, but I do think in the future organizations need to take a hard look at what is “sporting” while honoring the tradition of the sport

I don’t tournament fish anymore heck barely fish at all so it makes zero difference to me. But to think having ffs and an A rig is banned is funny

It is quite comical that FFS is allowed, but an ARig is not…

True but isn’t that because the BPT guys wouldn’t be able to get through the Opens gauntlet? Without using their “exemption”? When the split happened any angler that wanted to jump ship to MLF was welcome.

It totally amazes me about how much time has been spent centered around FFS. Don’t like it, don’t use it. Who cares. Just fish the way you like, and others (pro’s or recreational anglers) will fish the way they like or rules permit. Let’s just get back on track and have fun fishing. I come on this site to read and have conversations about fishing. Not politics around pros and electronics. Just my 2 cents

I see things differently I guess. I would not work or associate with someone being dishonest. I had lunch today with 2 retired touring pros. The stories they tell are really amazing. Lunch was pretty good also.

It's still a business and professional sports league, albeit fishing. BASS is going to do what best for its pockets at the end of the day.

The fishermen are no more employees than the gamblers at a casino. The fishermen are gamblers, putting down their bet and hoping to win enough to continue gambling. Maybe make a name for themselves and get someone to sponsor their habit.

That reality is difficult for some to accept
